What is EFT "tapping"?
EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique or "tapping" is an evidence based tool for working with beliefs, emotions, and past events that trigger a stress reaction in the body's nervous system. Tapping has been referred to as psychological acupuncture. EFT "tapping" uses the same Chinese meridian acupuncture points but is done with gentle pressure from our fingers rather than with needles. The "tapping" helps to regulate strong emotional reactions while focusing on the problem (also called exposure) so that the stress response won't hinder healing or make the problem feel too big to deal with.
